What you can walk in for
Urgent care fills the gap between your regular doctor and the emergency room. If you are sick or hurt today and it is not life-threatening, come in:
- Fever, chills or flu symptoms
- Colds, cough, congestion or mild shortness of breath
- Sore throat, ear pain or a sinus infection
- Burning or frequent urination (UTI), and STI testing and treatment
- Pink eye or eye irritation
- Skin rashes, infections, bug bites, minor burns or a mild allergic reaction
- A cut that needs cleaning, bandaging or stitches
- Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or abdominal pain
- Minor sprains, strains and injuries
- Prescription refills and medication reviews
- Blood pressure and diabetes checks (ongoing care is covered under primary care)
For chest pain, signs of a stroke (face drooping, arm weakness, trouble speaking), severe difficulty breathing, uncontrolled bleeding, or anything that feels life-threatening, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. We handle things that are urgent but not emergencies.
What happens when you walk in
- Walk in. Come during open hours with a photo ID and a list of your medications. If you would rather have a time held, call and we will set one.
- See Dr. Wolfington. A short check-in at the front desk, then the doctor.
- Treatment, explained. What is going on, what the options are, and what each one costs. Labs and imaging are ordered here, and prescriptions go to your pharmacy before you leave.
- Follow-up. Results are discussed by phone or at a follow-up visit.
